I am a musician performing on a long list of different instruments in a large range of styles. My daughter, Elizabeth, and I perform professionally as the Renaissance duo, Wyldes Noyse. We play for banquets, weddings, street fairs, historic re-enactments, and anything else that people want, wearing Renaissance dress. We play shawms, sackbut, cornetto, lysard, serpent, recorders, rebec, cittern and fiddles

We can provide school workshops, involving the children in playing, improvisation and dance.
We also play English folk music from the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, in Georgian dress.

In 1999, with the help of the then Mayor, historian Dr Paul Richards, I formed King's Lynn Waites - a revival of the Renaissance town shawm band which provided music for civic occasions, patrolled the streets at night and played every Sunday on the Tuesday Market Place to entertain the public. As well as our shawms and sackbuts, we play a wide range of instruments as above, and also including English bagpipes and Hurdy-Gurdy. We perform in Tudor scarlet livery.

I am musical director of the Norfolk Gallery Quire, which exists to revive and perform the exciting village church music of Georgian Norfolk. The Quire meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month at The Old Red Lion, Bailey Street, Castle Acre, and is accompanied by my village band, The Fall of Eve, consisting of fiddles, clarinet, oboe, flute and serpent. The band also performs as a folk dance band.

I run the folk evenings at the Ostrich Inn, Castle Acre, on the last Wednesday of every month, to which all are welcome.

In addition, I play trombone in swing bands and concert bands, and viola in orchestras and chamber groups when required.
